Vocalist Horan of Clazziquai introduces a whole new persona as a member of an acoustic band with a folk sentimentality. Ibadi is a project band comprised of famed acoustic guitarist Geojung and wide-ranging bassist Justin Kim. In their first album “Story of Us,” Horan showcases breathtaking voices rarely heard in her previous works with Clazziquai. Against the background of richly emotional and mellow guitars of Geojung and Justin Kim, Horan paints simple, yet strangely alluring pictures. Horan’s light and unadorned vocal is most evident in the title song “Unfinished Story,” where her voice fleets across the sounds of piano, guitar, and brush drums to tell the world Ibadi’s unending tale.
