TVXQ Wins Japanese Music Award
2008-12-03
Hot idol group TVXQ has won a Gold Award at the 50th Japan Record Awards. Hailed as the most prestigious music award in Japan, the Japan Record Awards selected 12 artists for Gold Award this year. TVXQ got the nod for their 23rd single in Japan, “Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattan Darou? (Why Did I Fall in Love with You?)” Other artists honored include EXILE, C-ute, Kumi Koda, and w-inds.

TVXQ will receive the award at the award ceremony, which will be broadcast live from Tokyo on December 30 by TBS. The five-member group will also be the first Korean idol band to be invited to the renowned NHK Red & White Songfest on December 31.

It seems the year 2008 is wrapping up very nicely for TVXQ, who have swept awards both domestic and overseas. The group has also won five awards – best album of the year, overseas viewers’ award, Auction’s online popularity, etc. - at the last month’s 2008 Mnet KM Music Festival.
