Singer Rain and his old agency, JYP Entertainment, agreed on a settlement with Click Entertainment, which sued the Korean singer for canceling out on concerts in Hawaii. Rain lost the suit and was ordered to pay more than 8 million dollars in damage to Click Entertainment. The amount of the settlement has not been disclosed, but it’s estimated to be much lower than the initial compensation.
Industry insiders say that the judge asked the two sides three times to come to a settlement in the wake of the first trial. This supposedly illustrated that the judge thought the jury’s verdict was wrong. Rain and JYP Entertainment had immediately filed for an appeal after the March ruling. The settlement is expected to considerably influence another suit against Rain pending in Los Angeles. |
