'From London to London' 2012 London Olympics Opening Special London, the home of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, has a special place in Korean sports history as the 1948 London Games was the first Olympics that Korea attended as an independent country from Japanese colonial rule.
The 2012 Summer Olympics will take place from July 27th through August 12th again in London, the only city in history to host the games three times. Thousands of athletes from all around the world will be competing to bring home the gold medal.
Korea’s best in many different sports will also be there to in hopes of winning at least ten gold medals to place within the top ten in medal rankings for the third consecutive Olympic Games.
“From London to London” is the Korean National team’s motto, remembering Korea’s first Olympic squad that went to London with bursting hearts, and we hope their sweat and tears bear fruit.
