N. Korean Leader Inspects Missile Launch Drill
2014-07-10 Updated.

North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency has reported North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspected a ballistic missile launch drill in Hwanghae Province.

The North Korean news agency said Thursday that during the inspection, Kim gave instructions and ordered rockets to be fired.

It said Kim also urged the North to be prepared in both verbal and physical capabilities. He stressed no matter how good and right it is, if it is not strong enough, the North will fall prey to powerful countries and lose its valuable history.

The report did not specify the exact date of the drill, but North Korea launched two short-range ballistic missiles Wednesday morning from Pyeongsan, Hwanghae Province.

The North Korean news outlet also reported that Kim visited the memorial altar for former military leader Jeon Byung-ho, and paid his respects. Jeon was a key figure in North Korea’s nuclear development.
