People’s Security Minister Ju Sang-song is a key adviser and confidante
of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il.
Little is known of Ju’s background. He became a cadre candidate of
the Central Committee of the Korean Workers’ Party in 1970 and cadre
in 1991. In the People’s Army, he became a colonel general in 1992
and general in 1997. In 2004, he was appointed the North’s top official
for domestic security. |
