'The Good Doctor' Becomes Most Watched Monday Drama in US

The U.S. adaptation of "The Good Doctor," originally a South Korean drama of the same name, has become the most watched Monday series in the country.
According to the TV Guide magazine, the third episode of ABC's The Good Doctor that aired October ninth was the most watched Monday evening show, beating "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS.
TV Guide said that 17-point-nine million viewers watched The Big Bang Theory while 18-point-two million tuned into The Good Doctor.
The two shows are not aired at the exact same hour so it's difficult to compare them directly. The long-running Big Bang Theory commands higher ratings.
Among viewers aged 18 to 49, The Good Doctor started out with a two-point-two percent rating in its first episode which edged down to two percent in the fourth episode on Monday.
A viewership rating of one-and-a-half to two percent is considered a success in the U.S.
The original South Korean medical drama about a young autistic surgeon with Savant syndrome aired on KBS in 2013.
