Japanese, Chinese, Russian to be Enabled for Use in Online EMS Shipments

The Korea Post said Tuesday that starting next month, the Japanese, Chinese, and Russian languages will be enabled for use with the online international express mail service (EMS).

The existing online system requires customers to fill in shipment information in English, and later handwrite the shipping information in the other language when the post office representative arrives to pick up the parcel or letter.

The Korea Post expects the revision will significantly reduce inconveniences for online shopping malls and small businesses, noting that 600-thousand out of one-point-one million EMS shipments are addressed in the Japanese, Chinese and Russian languages every year.
