Jeju Airport Operates in Full Swing After Heavy Snow

As airport operations resumed on Jeju Island after days of heavy snow let up, tens of thousands of travelers flew in and out of the the southern resort island.

The Jeju Regional Office of Aviation said outgoing flights from Jeju Island resumed at 2:48 p.m. on Monday and continued into Tuesday.

As of Tuesday morning, almost 24-thousand passengers traveled to and from Jeju International Airport and Gimpo International Airport in Seoul. 
Officials at Gimpo and Gimhae International Airports temporarily suspended limits on evening flights until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, and added 150 flights taking the route.
International flights departing from the island also resumed, allowing more than five-thousand travelers to go to China. Travelers going to Bangkok, Hong Kong and Japan also flew out from Jeju.
On Tuesday, a combined 556 flights are scheduled to fly in and out of Jeju Island.
