Seoul Police Arrest Suspect for Murders of 3 Koreans in Philippines

The prime suspect in the murders of three South Koreans in the Philippines early this month has been arrested in South Korea.

According to police on Thursday, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s International Crime Investigative Unit arrested the suspect, identified by his surname Kim, in Changwon in South Gyeongsang Province on Wednesday. The suspect was taken to Seoul to be investigated.

Police say Kim allegedly colluded with another South Korean surnamed Park, who resided with Kim in the Philippines. South Korean officers are now said to be cooperating with the Philippine police to track down Park.

Two Korean men and one woman in their 40s or 50s were found dead with gunshot wounds to the head on October eleventh in a sugarcane field in Bacolor, roughly 80 kilometers northwest of Manila.

They were known to have been involved in a fraudulent investment scheme in South Korea.
