Both supporters and opponents of impeached ex-President Park Geun-hye held rallies on Tuesday as the prosecution summoned her for questioning.
Groups of Park’s supporters held rallies in front of her residence in Samseong-dong, Gangnam District and the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. They also called a media conference, expressing opposition to the prosecution’s questioning of her.
Dozens of her supporters plan to continue the rallies in front of her residence for the rest of the day.
The organizers of the anti-Park candlelight vigils held a rally also in front of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, calling for her arrest and punishment. They also held a rally in front of her residence.
To prevent the possible collision between the two sides, the police mobilized one-thousand-900 policemen near the prosecution office and another one-thousand in front of her residence.
