Bone Found Near Sewol Identified as Remains of Teacher

A bone found earlier this month near the site of the 2014 Sewol ferry disaster has been identified as the remains of Danwon High School teacher Go Chang-seok.
The on-site Sewol search headquarters said Wednesday that the bone found near Jindo Island in South Jeolla Province on May fifth belongs to Go.
The National Forensic Service and the Supreme Prosecutors' Office jointly participated in the DNA analysis. The analysis took less than the expected one month.
Go was one of nine remaining missing victims. He was 40 at the time of the disaster. According to students who survived, the physical education teacher gave his life jacket to students and helped them to escape.
