The prosecution has launched an investigation into allegations that the military cyberwarfare command posted illegal political comments during the 2012 presidential election.
According to the prosecution on Wednesday, travel bans have been placed on key suspects involved in the case, including former Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin and former chief of the cyber command Ok Do-kyung.
Kim is accused of leading illegal operations to post political comments to influence the general and presidential elections in 2012.
The former defense chief is also suspected of reporting the operation to then President Lee Myung-bak.
The prosecution said that it’s too early to mention the possibility of summoning the former president, but hinted that it’s inevitable for the prosecution to question him to check the allegations.
