1 in 10 S. Korean Households Consist of Single Young Adults

A new survey shows that young South Korean adults living alone account for more than ten percent of South Korean households.

According to the survey released on Wednesday by the National Assembly Research Service, one-point-88 million households in the nation last year were comprised of single South Koreans in their 20s and 30s, making up eleven-point-three percent of all South Korean households.

In the span of six years, the number of such young single-member households of young adults jumped by 324-thousand.

The number of single-member households overall stood at nearly five-point-four million last year or 27-point-two percent of the whole households.
