Prosecution: Millions of Contaminated Burger Patties Distributed to McDonald's Korea

Seoul prosecutors say that millions of hamburger patties possibly contaminated with E. coli bacteria were sold in McDonald's restaurants all over the country.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday that a supplier of the hamburger patties had delivered large volumes of meat that is suspected to have been infested with O157 E. coli.

One million of the supplier's patties were found to contain the bacteria, but the company is said to have fabricated test results before supplying them.

The company also supplied 30 million patties which tested positive for shiga toxins.

The prosecution has requested arrest warrants for three of the company's executives.
