H1N1 Virus Spreads Rapidly Throughout Seoul District Schools

The number of H1N1 influenza cases is increasing rapidly among kindergarteners, elementary, middle and high school students in Seoul.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, the total number of students infected with the new flu virus dramatically increased from 38-hundred on October 1st to nearly 94-hundred as of October 22nd.

Notably, the figure surged 66 percent in a week as it stood at about 56-hundred on October 15th.

Compared to the beginning of the month, the number of schools with confirmed cases also jumped significantly from 754 to one-thousand-89.

As of Wednesday, 76 schools closed down partially or completely including 15 high schools, with only 20 days left before the college scholastic ability test.
