Hyundai, Kia to Raise Average Fuel Efficiency 25% by 2020

Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors have unveiled a plan to raise the average fuel efficiency of their cars 25 percent by 2020.

The plan includes the development of fuel-efficient engines and transmissions.

Starting in 2018, they will also try to decrease the weight of their cars by increasing the usage of ultra-high tensile strength steel plates in their products.

In addition, they plan to launch mid-sized and compact hybrid models next year to boost their production of more fuel efficient, environmentally friendly cars.
