BOK to Stick to Expansionary Monetary Policy Next Year

The Bank of Korea (BOK) says its expansionary monetary policy will continue into next year.

The central bank on Wednesday made the announcement in its monetary policy direction report for 2015.

The BOK projected in the report that the pace of recovery will be slow and modest next year and that prices will remain low for quite a long period of time.

The bank said that it will pay attention to risk factors at home and abroad as well as possible drops in the expected rate of inflation.

Meanwhile, the central bank said it will prepare to set the appropriate medium-term inflation target for the time period starting in 2016 taking into account a number of factors.

The bank also said it will establish a database and enhance monitoring to deal with the rising household debt.
