Survey: 62.5% of Bizs Have Plans to Hire More Staff in 2nd Half

A new survey finds that three out five companies plan to hire new employees in the latter half of the year in the wake of President Moon Jae-in’s call on major businesses to hire more people.
Job portal site, Saramin, recently surveyed 291 companies and found that 182, or 62-and-a-half percent of the surveyed, unveiled intentions to recruit new workers in the second half. Thirty-seven-and-a-half percent of companies said they have no such plans.
According to the survey on Thursday, 87-and-a-half percent of large companies have new recruitment plans while nearly 69 percent of mid-sized firms and roughly 61 percent of small-sized companies have plans to hire more people.
The survey found that the companies surveyed are mostly looking for people to work in manufacturing and production followed by sales, design, service and information and communication technologies.
