WSJ: US Fed Likely to Raise Key Rates in March, June

Wall Street analysts expect the U.S. Federal Reserve will raise its key interest rates in March and June.

According to the Wall Street Journal's survey of 68 economists, 93 percent of the respondents predicted the Fed will conduct this year's first rate hike in March.

Two thirds of the analysts or 65 percent projected that the second hike will come in June.

None of the respondents forecast a rate hike in January.

According to the projections, the U.S. key rates will rise to one-point-75 to two percent in June from the current one-point-25 to one-point-50 percent range.

The WSJ said on Thursday that in general, the analysts expect the rate will be raised three times this year and twice next year, to reach two-point-75 percent in the long term.
