KOSPI Ends Higher After Falling Below 2,300

South Korean shares ended higher on Friday after a sharp drop during the session. 

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) recovered after falling below the two-thousand-300 mark for the first time in 13 months during intraday trading to close the day up.

As of 11:08 a.m., the KOSPI fell to two-thousand-296-point-82 amid lingering concerns over trade tensions between the U.S. and China. However, it recovered following rises in blue chip shares to close the day at two-thousand-326-point-13, an increase of eleven-point-89 points, or point-51 percent, from the previous day.  

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining eight-point-02 points, or point-99 percent, closing at 818-point-22. 

On the foreign exchange, the local currency rallied to strengthen nine-point-seven won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-114-point-five won.
