A new survey finds that one out of four Koreans intends to purchase an imported car.

According to the survey conducted by Nielsen Company Korea on one-thousand people living in five major cities, more than 26 percent of the surveyed said they plan to buy imported cars.

More than 58 percent of respondents said they are planning to buy Korean cars, while 15-and-a-half percent said they have no plans to purchase an automobile.

The highest percentage of those surveyed, some 22 percent, said safety was the most important factor that figured into their purchase of a car, followed by design and fuel efficiency.
