S. Korean Presidential Candidates Asked to Disclose Stances on N. Korean Defectors

An underground group that claimed to help the family of the slain half brother of North Korea’s leader has publicly asked South Korean presidential candidates to disclose their stances on the protection of North Korean defectors abroad.

Cheollima Civil Defense, an organization that posted a YouTube clip of Kim Jong-nam's eldest son Kim Han-sol last month, made the request on Wednesday in a posting on its Web site.

The group asked South Korea presidential candidates whether they will accept and protect every North Korean defector in need of shelter, adding many people are seeking freedom and help.

Kim Han-sol appeared in a YouTube video clip uploaded by the group on March eighth, 24 days after his father was killed in Malaysia.
