N. Korea Criticizes Moon's Phone Talks with Trump

North Korea has criticized South Korean President Moon Jae-in over his recent telephone talks with United States President Donald Trump.

The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North's ruling party, said in a commentary on Sunday that the South Korean authorities cringed before their American boss and implored him not to go to war, even when he said he does not care if thousands of people die on the Korean Peninsula.

The paper also criticized South Korea for engaging in unacceptable anti-national acts and for considering the United States its savior.

It urged Seoul to stop its "humiliating subordinate relationship" with the United States, saying South Korean authorities’ submissive attitude is boosting the U.S. arbitrary and high-handed practices and causing a catastrophe to South Korea.

Moon and Trump held talks on the phone and agreed on the need for maximum pressure on North Korea on Monday, a day after the U.N. Security Council imposed new sanctions against Pyongyang.
