N. Korean Delegation to Walk Across Border to Inter-Korean Talks

North Korea's delegation to Tuesday’s inter-Korean dialogue will travel to the meeting venue by walking through the border at the truce village of Panmunjeom.

Seoul's Unification Ministry said on Monday that the North's officials will walk across the Military Demarcation Line(MDL) at around 9:30 a.m. to get to the Peace House in Panmunjeom on the South Korean side of the border.

The ministry said working-level preparations for the talks have been completed after the North informed the South of the details regarding the meeting, including North Korean delegation's travel plans and the list of its members and their assistants.

Working-level contacts were made via their Panmunjeom liaison channel. The ministry said their last communication was made at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

The first high-level inter-Korean dialogue in nearly two years will be led by Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon for South Korea and Ri Son-gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, for the North.

Discussions will likely center on preparations for the North's participation in the upcoming PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games and measures to improve inter-Korean ties.
