North Korea has reportedly test-fired two short-range missiles off its eastern coast.
A Seoul official said Tuesday that the North fired a pair of short-range missiles from a site near the city of Hamheung in South Hamgyeong Province. South Korean intelligence authorities are currently analyzing what the North’s intentions were for the launches.
The North reportedly tested one surface-to-air and one surface-to-ship missile, both with ranges of about 130 kilometers.
On Monday, Pyongyang detonated a nuclear device and test-fired three short-range missiles.
Experts say there’s a chance the North may pursue additional missile tests as the North’s ban on ships from waters off the western coast is in effect from Monday through Wednesday. |
