Unification Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae says he is not pessimistic about current inter-Korean relations, although ties seem to have become strained since North Korea unilaterally postponed family reunions last month.
The minister said in a speech on Friday he will not be affected by every small change, good or bad, in inter-Korean relations.
Ryoo said it is easy to make a quick fix to improve inter-Korean relations, but it is not easy to develop mature and constructive relations in the long term.
He also said North’s nuclear issue should first be resolved to develop the Gaesong Industrial Complex into a mature industrial park.
