North Korea’s Workers’ Party is expected to introduce a thesis early next year on leader Kim Jong-un’s ruling ideology.
Sources familiar with North Korean issues say the thesis is almost complete, and it will include a clause that Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il’s ideologies have replaced Marxism and Leninism.
The sources also say the thesis legitimizes the rule of the Kim family and Kim Jong-un’s power succession.
The writing is also expected to justify the partial acceptance of a market economy as a way to improve the livelihood of the North Korean people.
Academics from the Workers’ Party, Kim Il-sung University and the Academy of Social Studies wrote the thesis.
The sources say it will be made public in February next year, 40 years after Kim Jong-un’s father, Kim Jong-il, announced his thesis on the Juche ideology.
