S. Korea Begins Process to Repatriate 4 Bodies Presumed N. Korean

South Korea has informed the North to begin the process of sending back the bodies of four sailors of a presumed North Korean boat found capsized in the South Korean sea.

An official of Seoul's Unification Ministry said the South Korean Red Cross informed its counterpart in the North through the liaison office at the truce village of Panmunjeom on Friday about the incident.

The official said the government plans to discuss with the North schedules and methods of the repatriation of the four bodies.

On Sunday, the skeletonized bodies were found inside what appears to be a North Korean ship discovered in waters off Ulleung Island in the East Sea.

Two presumed North Korean bodies were discovered in the South in two separate cases late last year, but the North ignored the South's notification of the incidents.
