WFP's N. Korea Food Aid Operation May be Shut Down Early 2015

A World Food Program (WFP) official says a food aid operation run by the UN agency may have to be shut down early next year due to a lack of donations.

The WFP's Asia regional director Kenro Oshidari said Friday the agency needs an additional 50 million dollars in order to provide proper nutritional aid to North Korean infants and expectant mothers.

The WFP is currently conducting a planned two-year operation to feed roughly two-point-four million children and pregnant women in North Korea which was kicked off in July last year.
