Seoul Re-elected Chair of World e-Governments Organization

Seoul City has been re-elected as chair of the World e-Governments Organization of Cities and Local Governments (WeGo).

Member cities elected Seoul as chair on Wednesday at the 3rd General Assembly held in the Chinese city of Chengdu.

The World e-Governments Organization, which was launched at Seoul’s initiative in 2010, pursues sustainable city development based on e-government by fostering collaboration among e-governing cities.

Seoul has been selected for a third straight term as chair, a position it has held since the launch of the organization.

As such, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon will serve as chairman for the next three years.
In addition, the member cities of the organization increased from 50 to 86.

About 300 representatives of 70 cities and international organizations are participating in the general assembly in Chengdu, which will run through Thursday.
