The UN Security Council has reportedly launched discussions on how to respond to North Korea’s latest test-firing of a submarine-launched ballistic missile(SLBM).
An official at the Foreign Ministry in Seoul said Wednesday that consultations are under way among UNSC members as the test is in violation of resolutions, which prohibit launches using ballistic missile technology.
The official added that Seoul is continuing related diplomatic efforts in close cooperation with its allies like the U.S. and Japan.
The government is expected to push for the UNSC to issue a statement condemning the North’s latest missile launch.
