Germany Warns N. Korea's Provocation Will Have Consequence

Germany has warned North Korea that it will deal with another North Korean provocation with actions.

German Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Schaefer said in a regular media briefing on Wednesday if Pyongyanng once again endangers neighboring countries intentionally, Germany will not stand still.

Schaefer said the North's missile test-firing is an unjustifiable violation of the international law and the German government is denouncing it.

He also said the international community cannot and will not turn a blind eye to such an intentional violation of the resolutions by the UN and the UN Security Council(UNSC).

The spokesman noted that Germany is strongly urging the North to distant itself from additional provocation, and will deliver the request to the North Korean side, repeatedly, directly and clearly, adding that Germany agrees with a joint statement announced by the foreign ministers of South Korea, China and Japan.

During a trilateral meeting held in Tokyo on Wednesday, the foreign ministers of South Korea, China and Japan shared the perception that they will not tolerate the North’s nuclear armament and will work hard to deter the North’s additional provocation.
