
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will focus on the North Korean missile and nuclear issues during his talks with U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, who will visit Japan on Tuesday.
Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said on Monday during a regular news briefing that Abe and Pence will discuss security issues, also mentioning North Korea’s recent failed missile launch.
Prime Minster Abe told parliament on Monday that Pyongyang is showing off its military power, but diplomatic effort is important to maintain peace. Abe also urged China to play a bigger role and put more pressure on the North.
