S. Korea Doubts N. Korea's Ability to Launch Nuclear ICBM

South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha says there is “no concrete evidence” that North Korea has mastered the technology to deliver a nuclear warhead on an intercontinental ballistic missile.

The minister made the remark during a CNN interview aired on Tuesday, rejecting the North's claim that it has completed its nuclear program.

Kang admitted that North Korea has developed its weapons program far faster than expected, but said it has not yet reached the final completion stage.

She said the North hasn't demonstrated key capabilities needed to successfully fire a nuclear warhead such as reentry capabilities, remote targeting or miniaturization.

Kang said that North Korea will never be accepted as a nuclear power, stressing a peaceful resolution of the North Korean issue through sanctions and pressure.
