S. Korea to Grant No-visa Entry for Southeast Asian Tourists Around Olympics

South Korea will allow a special no-visa entry for travelers from three Southeast Asian nations visiting the country around the time of the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games set to open next month.

Gangwon Province announced on Thursday that it will grant no-visa entry for group travelers entering South Korea through Yangyang International Airport from Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines between January 22nd and the end of April.

The travelers will be allowed to stay up to 15 days and tour around not only Gangwon Province but also Seoul.

During this no-visa entry period, immigration control officials and police will work together to crack down on illegal immigrants who try to enter the nation disguised as tourists.
