U.S. President Donald Trump said he would push for a "reciprocal tax" on U.S. trade partners that levy tariffs on American products.

Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday that a reciprocal tax on imports would be unveiled this week, saying that the U.S. cannot continue to be taken advantage of by other countries.

He said that the U.S. lost vast amounts of money with China, Japan and South Korea, accusing them of "getting away with murder."

Trump said that "we are going to charge countries outside of our country – countries that take advantage of the United States. Some of them are so-called allies but they are not allies on trade.”
