Moon's Envoys to Return Home from US Trip

South Korea's national security adviser and spy chief will return home from the United States after briefing the results of their recent meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

National Security Adviser Chung Eui-yong and National Intelligence Service Director Suh Hoon will return home on Sunday afternoon after a four-day trip to the United States.

During the trip, the two security officials met with U.S. President Donald Trump and conveyed Kim's willingness to hold talks with the United States.

Trump accepted Kim's invitation to meet, saying he will meet the North Korean leader by May.

Chung and Suh will brief President Moon Jae-in on their meeting with Trump on Sunday and discuss ways to coordinate the positions of Washington and Pyongyang ahead of the summit talks between the leaders of the two Koreas, and North Korea and the United States.

Chung is scheduled to visit China on Monday and Tuesday and fly to Moscow to give a briefing of the results of his recent trips to the United States and North Korea.

Suh will visit Tokyo Monday and Tuesday along with second deputy director of the National Security Office Nam Kwan-pyo.
