Two U.S. cities have set aside a day to recognize a Korean scholar's contributions to the health of local residents and their happiness.

The University of Brain Education (UBE) said Tuesday that the U.S. cities of Las Vegas and San Francisco had designated September sixth and seventh, respectively, as "Ilchi Lee Day." Dr. Ilchi Lee Seung Hun is president of the UBE, an institution based in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province that describes itself as a graduate school for peace studies.

The designations reflect the cities’ recognition of Lee’s contributions through his original brain education that form the basis of Dahn yoga, which is said to aid communication between the body and the mind.

Ten American cities including Atlanta and Cambridge have made similar proclamations.
