Japanese lawmakers are likely to meet with South Korean President Park Geun-hye later this month to attempt to improve relations between the two countries.
The chief secretary of the Korea-Japan Parliamentarians Union, Takeo Kawamura of the Liberal Democratic Party, said Thursday he expects to meet President Park during the union's joint conference to be held in Seoul from October 24.
The former Chief Cabinet Secretary said if he meets the president, he wants to deliver his candid views on various pending issues like the summit between South Korea and Japan.
