S. Korean Delegation to EU Arrives in Brussels

A delegation led by President Moon Jae-in’s special envoy Cho Yoon-je arrived in Brussels on Thursday, to launch their missions with the European Union(EU) and Germany.
Cho will meet with EU Council President Donald Tusk on Friday, as well as other EU leaders, including the EU’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, European External Action Service Secretary-General Helga Schmid, and Nirj Deva, chairman of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with the Korean Peninsula.
During the meeting with Tusk, Cho is expected to deliver President Moon’s letter and exchange opinions regarding how to strengthen cooperation between South Korea and the EU on issues of mutual interests, including the North Korean nuclear issue.
Before receiving Cho, Tusk plans to talk with Moon by telephone.
The South Korean delegation will hold a press conference on Friday afternoon to brief on the outcome of its visit to the EU, before leaving for Berlin.
