Chang Won-jun Signs With Doosan for Record Pitcher Contract

Free agent South Korean pitcher Chang Won-jun has signed a record-breaking contract with the Doosan Bears.
Doosan said Saturday that Chang signed a four-year contract with the team worth eight-point-four billion won.
The signing marks the biggest free agent contract in South Korean baseball history for a pitcher, exceeding the four-year contract Yoon Sung-hwan signed with the Samsung Lions worth eight billion won earlier this year.
However, the contract is less than the eight-point-eight billion won offered by Chang's former team, the Lotte Giants, and the eight-point-six billion won contract signed by hitter Choi Jeong. Choi's contract was the biggest free agent contract signed in South Korean baseball history.
The details of Chang's contract entail a signing bonus of four billion won, an annual salary of one billion won and incentives worth 400 million won.
Chang has been recognized as one of the best pitchers in the league for his performance as a left-handed starting pitcher for the Lotte Giants, winning over ten games for five straight seasons.
