PM, Deputy PMs Hold First 3-Way Meeting to Discuss State Affairs

Prime Minister Chung Hong-won and two deputy prime ministers have held an inaugural meeting of their three-way regular talks.

Chung and Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Choi Kyung-hwan and Deputy Prime Minister for Education, Society and Culture Hwang Woo-yea held the meeting on Tuesday morning after the Cabinet meeting.

The three held discussions on the reform of the civil servants’ pension system, the recent cyber attacks on the country’s nuclear reactor operator and illegal fishing by Chinese fishing boats in Korean waters.

The prime minister said the government should focus on its three-year economic reform plan next year and produce results, asking both of the deputy prime ministers to make active efforts to revive the economy.

The top officials agreed to actively support efforts to produce measures to improve the labor market structure and provide active support for the passage of a bill on the public servant pension reform.

The prime minister and deputy prime ministers plan to meet twice a month after the Cabinet meeting to discuss major state affairs.
