S. Korea Defeats Iraq 2-0, Advances to AFC Asian Cup Finals

South Korea has advanced to the AFC Asian Cup final, defeating Iraq 2-0 in Sydney, Australia.

Forward Lee Jeong-hyeop and defensive back Kim Young-gwon scored a goal each in the first and second half of the semifinal match held at Stadium Australia on Monday.

The South Korean men’s football team, led by coach Uli Stielike, will face the winner of a match between Australia and the United Arab Emirates to be held on Tuesday in Newcastle.

The final match will be held on Saturday in Stadium Australia. The match will mark the first time that South Korea has played in the Asian Cup final in 27 years.

In the quest for their first Asian Cup title since 1960, the South Korean national team has not allowed a goal so far in the tournament of 16 countries.
