NIS: Missing Teen Training With Islamic State

The National Intelligence Service has confirmed that a South Korean teen who went missing in Turkey last month joined Islamic State (IS) and is currently undergoing training.
The intelligence agency made the confirmation on Tuesday during a full session of the National Assembly’s Intelligence Committee.
The agency said the 17-year-old Korean teen, identified by his surname Kim, is receiving training from IS, though his exact location has yet to be confirmed.
Kim went missing on January 10 after staying in a hotel near Turkey’s border with Syria. The South Korean government had speculated that the teen joined IS as he had expressed admiration for the rebel group.
Kim is the first officially confirmed South Korean to join Islamic State.
