Parties Agree to Maintain 300 Parliamentary Seats

The parliamentary special committee on political reforms has decided to maintain the number of parliamentary seats at 300.

Rep. Chung Moon-hun of the ruling Saenuri Party and Rep. Kim Tae-nyeon of the main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD), announced the decision on Tuesday after the committee’s session.

The two lawmakers representing their respective parties at the committee told reporters that they reached agreements on major issues including the number of parliamentary seats, but they are working to narrow differences on the issue of redrafting election constituencies.
