S. Korea to Expand Visas for K-Culture Fans

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Kim Jong-deok says plans are in place to attract 20 million tourists per year starting in 2017.

Appearing on a KBS news program on Thursday, the minister said part of the efforts to reach the goal includes an expansion of Hallyu visas to tourists from China and other countries.

The Hallyu visa simplifies visa application requirements for tourists seeking to primarily visit destinations in South Korea related to K-pop, fashion, and dramas. The visas will be offered from the second half of this year.

Kim added that more 'K-Travel Buses' will be provided to attract tourists to destinations outside the capital Seoul.
