'Now is Not Time to Talk About Dialogue with N. Korea'

South Korea’s Unification Minister Hong Yong-pyo says that it is not the right time to talk about dialogue with North Korea and stressed the need to continue the pressure and sanctions on the reclusive regime over its nuclear and missile provocations.

The minister told reporters on Sunday that Seoul is open to dialogue with Pyongyang, but it’s not the time right now.

Hong said that Seoul’s goal is peaceful reunification and it is time to use sanctions and pressure against North Korea to move closer to that goal.

He said that some people are already calling for an exit from the sanctions and pressure, but the country should think about the ramifications that exit would achieve.

The minister said that the country could open a door when an exit leads to peace, but now is not the time.
