Acting Pres. Vows Swift, Thorough Inspection of Sewol Ferry

Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn has expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims of the Sewol ferry disaster on the third anniversary of the ferry sinking.

Hwang on Sunday said that he prays for all the people who died in the tragic accident and conveys his condolences to their families during his speech on Public Safety Day.

The acting president also said that he feels sorry for the families of the nine missing victims whose remains have yet to be recovered.

Hwang said that the government is making its utmost efforts to recover the remains of the nine victims from the recently salvaged ferry.

He also vowed a swift and thorough investigation by the Sewol inspection committee, adding that the government will provide full support for the committee’s operation.
