Foreign Minister Nominee Apologizes for False Address

Foreign minister nominee Kang Kyung-wha has apologized for registering a false address to help her daughter gain admission to the high school of her choice.

Speaking to reporters on Monday about the issue, the nominee also shed light on the recent revelation that the address was not leased by her relative but the former principal of the school.
While apologizing for what she described as a thoughtless action, she claimed that the misunderstanding stems from her husband, who told the presidential office that the address was of a relative.

The nominee said her former teacher at the high school offered the address and she was not aware of the identity of the lessee.
Kang said she wanted to send her eldest daughter to her alma mater as she had a hard time adapting to her American school.
